Minimum BT requirements for optimal sound quality:
- Bluetooth version 2.1
- HFP v1.6 for speech supporting High Quality Audio (mSBC codec)
Our experience is that some computers are not optimized to connect to headsets via Bluetooth (does not support HFP v1.6) which will result in bad sound quality.
If this minimum requirements are not fulfilled we recommend to use USB or a Bluetooth dongle (with the correct specification) to connect to your Minto.
Make sure the connecting device supports Bluetooth version 2.1 or later.
From Bluetooth version 2.1, a pairing function called Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) was introduced. The idea was to make pairing simpler yet keeping high security level. The legacy pairing that was used in earlier versions of the standard required that a pass code was entered on both devices that should be paired. This requires a more complex UI than what is available on the Minto. Thus Minto is limited to work only with Bluetooth enabled devices supporting BT v2.1 and higher.
Make sure the connecting device is acting as host.
The Minto is not designed to be able to connect to other Bluetooth accessories. For example the Minto can not be connected to a Bluetooth headset or another Minto.
